San Diego Foundation and Partners Launch Grant Program to Help Childcare Centers

The San Diego Foundation -- along with San Diego County, Child Development Associates, and the YMCA of San Diego County -- are providing $25 million to assist child-care providers that offer essential services to local families during the pandemic.

The foundation and its partners have recognized the importance of childcare centers and want to keep them operational and safe as the economy reopens, and more parents need care again. Large family child-care providers can receive up to $3,500 in funding, and small family child-care providers can receive up to $2,750.

The effort is one of a growing number of community foundation-led efforts that are mobilizing millions to help local communities address the Covid-19 crisis.
